If you do not eat while traveling, then is life worth living? There is a saying, ‘Food may be essential for the body, but good food feeds the soul’. As much as travel feeds the soul, having a great culinary experience is also one you should not miss. The culinary world has much to offer with bursting flavors unique to each culture. If you travel, you may encounter some of the best cuisines presented most uniquely. Importantly restaurants are not only about the food but also the ambiance and service. This guide lists the best unique restaurants you should remember when traveling.

1. The Labassin waterfall restaurant, Philippines

The Philippines is a beautiful country with many things to see and do. This is an authentic, unique restaurant experience where the seafood is served on bamboo tables. Do not expect to wear expensive footwear to dine here. This is because you will be eating amongst a gushing waterfall. You might get slightly drenched, but it is worth the experience. If you wonder if this waterfall is real, the answer is no. It deviates from the Labassin Dam, making it an artificial waterfall. However, the experience is worth it. You can hear soothing traditional music and see local dance acts. When it comes to the food, you can indulge in a traditional Filipino buffet while soaking your feet in shallow, running water.

2. The Rock restaurant, Zanzibar

There is something special about this east coast beauty in South Africa. It is placed on a rock in the middle of the ocean, and people call it a floating restaurant. If you want a romantic dinner spot, then this is for you. You can also view the beautiful Indian ocean and see the sandy beaches from the restaurant. At low tide, you can visit by foot, but during high tide, there will be a boat to take you. A charming, unique restaurant with a simple yet significant concept, they serve delicious seafood. All their food is sourced locally and used to uplift the community with the proceedings. You should not miss the grilled lobster served with potatoes and salad. The Rock special is a fusion of lobster, king prawns, octopus, and calamari on the grill. This is indeed a seafood fiesta you can enjoy. The seafood also enjoys a fusion with another cuisine such as Italian. Their signature delight is the lobster tagliatelle coated in a delicious tomato sauce with fried aubergines. This restaurant has a plethora of seafood dishes for you and fine wine, where you can enjoy the best.

3. Ithaa restaurant, Alif Dhaal Atoll, Maldives

The Maldives is a dream that should be lived. With crystal clear waters and an archipelago of islands and exotic resorts, it is indeed an experience. How about dining five meters below the surface of the ocean? Sounds exciting, doesn’t it? Ithaa underwater restaurant is one of the most exciting restaurants in the world with a unique concept. You can eat with a panoramic view, watching fish swim past you and coral reefs sitting beautifully in the deep sea. It can accommodate fourteen guests and serves a fusion of European and Asian cuisine. This acrylic structure with a glass rooftop is beautiful to take pictures of and even host a special celebratory event. You can enjoy scallops, quail egg, and an exotic salmon dish underwater. This means you do not have to wear snorkeling gear to have an underwater experience anymore because dressing up to dine under the ocean is possible.

4. Snow Castle restaurant, Finland

This is a one-of-a-kind experience where you get to visit a place made entirely out of snow. It is a hotel built in 1996, providing all the amenities but at five degrees Celcius. The best part is it is rebuilt every year during spring by a different architect, bringing in a unique aspect. The seating is made of solid ice, and the drinks are served in solid ice glasses. They have diverse cuisine to suit everyone, with a reindeer fillet, a cranberry mousse cake, or a Finnish cake. This restaurant has beautiful neon lights, ice sculptures, and other exhibit items. Therefore, do not forget to take a few pictures if you visit.

5. White Rabbit, Moscow

You might now find a white rabbit at this restaurant, but you can find yourself enticed by a three-hundred-and-sixty-degree view of Moscow. You can dine with a breathtaking view of the city amidst a dome glass room. The restaurant has colorful sofas and booths with white rabbit-themed rooms and Russian dolls in the restaurant. A bit funky and inspired by Alice in Wonderland, you can be charmed. The menu is award-winning, with specialties such as avocado mousse, mussels, and an excellent selection of grills. There is a spark of creativity and a breathtaking view with a spot-on menu for you.

6. The disaster café, Spain

You may not want to hear the word ‘disaster’, especially while traveling. But this disaster turns up in a better way. Eating does not have to be boring, and this café believes in this mantra. This café simulates a 7.8 magnitude earthquake, where you are expected to keep your balance and enjoy your meal. The best part is that you will never know when the simulation will strike. You will notice that the staff wear helmets and the dishes are heavier. Also, an important point to note is that you will not get injured, and it is done under safety measures. However, if you are up for an adventure, this café is ideal.

7. Vertigo, Bangkok

A rooftop dining experience is memorable, so do it at Vertigo. You can indulge in premium steaks and the finest wines while enjoying the city’s vast skyline. It is sixty-one floors above the city, where you can see the business district and the Chao Phraya River. If you go during sunset, you can take beautiful pictures with skyscrapers looming in the background. The restaurant is known for its signature cocktails and lobster spring rolls. The barbequed baby back pork ribs served with tomatoes and sauce are a must-have. If you are a sweet tooth, try the Thai tea crème brûlée and the fresh fig tart, and you are bound to order more. The sky-high restaurant provides only a stunning view but a five-star service and an exotic ambiance.
